The system itself is refreshingly simple. On one side, four magnets sit on the part that fits onto the spotting scope (or binoculars) eyepiece. The other side carries four complementary magnets, fitted to the part that goes on the smartphone’s camera. Simply bring the smartphone close to the eyepiece of any spotting scope on the market. It snaps perfectly into place in an instant, with no fuss at all. The result is simply fantastic.

The adapter has 4 magnets and push-fits onto the eyepiece of spotting scopes of any brand. It also comes with a cap and cord to attach to the scope. Simply order it by specifying the brand and model of the spotting scope you own.
In addition, the cap is fitted with magnets that secure it to the adapter, keeping the spotting scope’s eyepiece protected at all times.
An adhesive plate is applied to any smartphone case* and centred on the camera. It’s likewise fitted with 4 magnets complementary to those on the adapter.
When you bring the smartphone with its case close to the adapter, the two parts snap together magnetically in an instant. The connection is secure and remarkably precise. Detaching them is just as easy, since they’re simply magnets.
Two smartphone versions, one universal adapter
There are two versions: for smartphones with the camera in the corner, and for those with a centred camera. Specifically, the adapter costs 185 euros and can be ordered here.
It can be left on the eyepiece at all times, even while observing, without affecting the field of view. The Ollin magnetic cap offers the best possible protection for the lens.
*Please note: the adhesive adapter part for the back of the smartphone case requires the smartphone to have a flat camera. If you own an iPhone PRO or a Samsung Galaxy S Ultra, their cameras protrude from the body of the phone. As a result, you’ll need the dedicated Ollin case that incorporates the adapter. If you own an iPhone PRO from the 12 onward or a Samsung Galaxy S 22 Ultra onward, their cameras protrude from the body. This requires a case with enough thickness to offset the difference. For iPhone 12 and later, and for Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra and later, Ollin produces a dedicated case with an integrated adapter. It’s custom-made according to the model you own. The case is required for iPhone PRO and Galaxy S Ultra models. For non-Pro iPhones and Galaxy S Ultra phones, however, you can also choose the universal adhesive plate, which fits any smartphone case.
